FOREIGN LANGUAGE OBJECTIVES
 
 

Novice Level Range  (Spanish Level I)

                                                   Cultures:  Gain Knowledge and Understanding of Other Cultures.

                                                    IV      -     Students will demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between
                                                                    the practices and perspectives of the culture(s) studied.

                                                   IV E   -     Show the relationship between the practices and perspectives of the target
                                                                    culture(s) by categorizing, listing, etc.
 
 

Intermediate Level Range  (Spanish Level I & II)

                                                    Cultures:  Gain Knowledge and Understanding of Other Cultures.

                                                     IV      -     Students will demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between
                                                                    the practices and perspectives of the culture(s) studied.

                                                   IV C   -     Identify some basic perspectives within the target culture.

                                                   IV D   -     Identify differences in cultural practices among countries where the target
                                                                     Language is spoken.

                                                   IV H   -     Analyze and discuss some commonly held generalizations about the
                                                                     culture studied.
 
 

Pre-advanced Level Range  (Spanish Immersion Grades 7th & 8th)

                                                    Cultures:  Gain Knowledge and Understanding of Other Cultures.

                                                     IV      -     Students will demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between
                                                                    the practices and perspectives of the culture(s) studied.

                                                    IV A   -    Communicate about cultural practices in the target language by using
                                                                     connected narrative and descriptive sentences.

                                                     IV D   -    Analyze social, geographic, and historic factors that affect cultural
                                                                     practices.

                                                    Communities: Participate in Multilingual Communities at Home and Around the World.

                                                   X     -     Students will use the language both within and beyond the school setting.

                                                   X B  -    Maintain connections with the target culture through the use of
                                                                  technology, media, and authentic sources.
 
 

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY OBJECTIVES
 

Introductory Level   (Spanish Language/Spanish Immersion – All Levels)

                                                       III     -     Demonstrate proficiency in the ability to create, format, edit, save, retrieve,
                                                                     and print documents using the basic functions of a word processor.

                                                      IV     -     Identify and use computer terms appropriate to grade level.

                                                     VI     -     Use the computer as a communication tool (documents, electronic mail, the
                                                                      Internet, telecommunications).
 
 

Intermediate Level   (Spanish Language/Spanish Immersion – All Levels)

                                                       IV     -     Use computer-based technologies and/or telecommunications to access,
                                                                       synthesize and utilize information.
 
 

Advanced Skills  (Spanish Language/Spanish Immersion – All Levels)

                                                        III     -     Use computer-based resources and/or telecommunications to gather,
                                                                        synthesize, into all curriculum areas.

                                                       IV     -     Demonstrate knowledge of computer usage for problem solving, data collection,
                                                                        information management, communications, presentations and/or decision-making
                                                                        utilizing legal and ethical principles.
