This
Unit
of Practice is designed to enhance student knowledge of world around
them. It specifically focuses on
the
Hispanic
World . The
flags seen above, belong to countries all over the world, and some U.S.
territories that were once part of the Golden Age of the Spanish Empire.
Throughout the centuries, Spain's hold on these nations and territories
came to an end as waves of nationalist fervor fed their fires of independence.
Today, these nations form a cultural, political and economically diverse
group of nations whose people we call Hispanics
.
The
objective of this unit is to develop an understanding that each "
Hispanic" nation is unique in culture,
politics
and economics as well as location, geography and climate. Their
source of unity is founded in
a
common "Spanish" language.
