TEACHER MATERIALS
IntroductionThis unit was specifically designed for the unique student population of Thoreau Demonstration Academy. At Thoreau, approximately 100 students, sixth, seventh and eighth grade, participate in advanced Spanish and French classes that service students from the Eisenhower International School. These students have been immersed in the Spanish and French language since Kindergarten. The rest of the population take semester Spanish and French classes as one of their electives choices.
This unit will involve the approximate 50 Spanish Immersion students and 40 Spanish IA and IB students, class
by class. The Immersion students will complete their work in Spanish, the Spanish students will have the choice
of Spanish or English.***This unit and its activities can be adapted to levels sixth through twelth grades (Spanish I-IV).
Timeframe: 4 - 6 Weeks
