5/26//09 We made it! We are back on the top floor and will be ready for business later this week. The Eighth Floor has new carpet and still needs a few touch ups but our facility looks wonderful! We think you will like it!

1/16/09 Exciting things are happening on the Eighth Floor! We have a newly designed newsletter/logo and we have an exciting list of courses this spring semester. We also are changing our domain name from www.eighthfloor.org to eighthfloor.tulsatech.edu but no worries, both links will get you here for a long time to come. Classes are filling up quickly so get make sure you get enrolled soon!
12/4/08 The Eighth Floor continues to evolve. We have been diligently working on upgrading our software and equipment. We have also redesigned our newsletter. Look for our Spring 09 schedule to be out the first of January.

This is a grant opportunity for individual or team professional
development opportunities. For example, one of ISTE's board members, Karen North,
applied and received her expenses paid to attend the several day AP Conference a
few years ago. NECC would appear to be an appropriate pd activity for which to
seek this grant. Application deadline is Jan 30, 2009 and there is an information

10/20/08 An Evening with Jim Stovall Jim Stovall, President of the Emmy Award-winning Narrative Television Network, and a highly sought after author will take the stage on Friday, November 7th at the Green Country Event Center-12000 East 31st Street at 7PM. He is the author of the best-selling book and now major motion picture, The Ultimate Gift. The inspirational talk will be focused on the Ultimate Legacy, impacting the future one student at a time. The event will include a dessert social, silent and live auctions, entertainment and special pre-release copies of Jim's newest book , Ultimate Productivity (Jan 2009). Are you a little wary of technology? Do you dread going to seminars on computer use? Does talk of the internet put a lump in your throat? Fear no more…. In today’s age, you can’t do much of anything without a computer being involved, but technology can be a teacher’s best friend. Our Education Technology Program is designed for educators and support personnel who need to start from the beginning, or even those who would like a basic refresher. This program is designed to allow you the opportunity to become comfortable with different areas of basic technology and will show you how to make your life easier. You will negotiate a friendly relationship with file management, Microsoft Windows, Word and PowerPoint, e-mail, finding resources on the internet, and more. Find out how to put these tools to practical use in your classroom or workspace. Instructors are skilled at working with all levels of learners and in creating a fun, learning environment. When your 2-day session is complete you will walk away with a renewed sense of confidence all while gaining the basic skills to make you successful with technology.
