1. For the PowerPoint Preterite vs. Imperfect game divide the students into
groups of five or six, five preferably. Then use the PowerPoint
game. There
are 40 slides. Have one group come up front and as a group they answer 5 of
the slides. They have to come up with the answers as a group. The
teacher keeps score as to how many answers each group answers correctly. After
all of the groups have a chance to answer, the teacher tallies up the scores
and the group with the most correct answers gets a prize.
2. At the end of the game, review the answers together as a class. This
activity could take up to an hour.
3. For the Incorrect Usage Activity, use Incorrect Usage Worksheets 1 and
2.
4. Have the students get into small groups. Allow them to collaborate as a
group using the worksheets to find the correct usage of all the verbs on the
two worksheets. These are the same worksheets that they used online in the
online exercise activity previously only now, the incorrect tense is used each
time.
5. At the end of this activity, as a whole group, go over the answers
together and have the students correct their answers. This activity should
take up an entire hour’s time.
